Surviving Basyang

Forest Club is up and about and should be ready to welcome guests again by 16 July 2010. Save for one poor African Tulip tree that was completely uprooted and several other trees with mangled and broken branches, the Forest Club survived the wrath of Typhoon Basyang. Thanks be to God.

In Team Building, Size Does Not Matter

Every organization benefits from team building. It's not true that only large corporations with a lot of employees need team building activities to foster better working relationships among their workers. Smaller organizations or teams within companies need to work on team cohesiveness as well. And probably more so. Harmony in a small group is very important for productivity and efficiency.

Accountants Get ... Fiscal!

Who said accountants and CPAs don't know how to have fun? Well, these two groups of number crunchers certainly proved that stereotype wrong.Over the long Independence Day weekend, two accounting firms held separate team building activities in Forest Club.SVS & Associates held its family day last 13 June 2010.

Planet Sports Shows Us How

It was undoubtedly the most organized corporate team building activity we've hosted this year. And we've certainly hosted quite a few in the first six months of 2010.Planet Sports, Inc. held its company summer outing in Forest Club last 4 June 2010. Divided into four teams, the eighty-seven employees from the head office all came prepared.

From Out of the Blue

We got the following e-mail from Harvey Yu of Ateneo de Manila University's Registration Committee, the student organization tasked with overseeing the class registration of all college students every semester.  It was a pleasure hosting the members of the Regcom in Forest Club and a bit nostalgic too as both Wawel and I were members of Regcom in 1988 and 1989. A good twenty years ago when we were just starting with computerized assessments and when students used to line up as early as 2 am to get into the classes of the best philo or theo teachers. Thank you, Harvey, for your feedback.

We Remain Open for Business

We just want to assure our clients, partners and friends that Forest Club was spared from the wrath of Typhoon Ondoy and that all our staff are safe and dry. Forest Club remains open despite the flooding that has affected some parts of Bay, Laguna. In fact, we never closed. On the 26th of September, when Ondoy's rains came pouring down on Southern Luzon and Metro Manila, we even had a group from Shell Shared Services as overnight guests. We are very thankful that Forest Club is situated in on relatively higher ground in Barangay Puypuy in Bay, Laguna.

High School Org Names Itself After Us

I stumbled upon this video on You Tube. The Forest Club of St. Scholastica's Manila is a regular client. As stated in the school web site, it is "a club composed of Scholasticans aged 13-16 years old who love and respect nature especially the Forest.  They must believe that they have a Responsibility towards the protection and conservation of the environment especially our Forest." What I didn't know is that the club was named after us!
